French Modern Comfortable Pumpkin Sofa

The "Pumpkin" sofa is a classic piece of furniture that has become an icon of modern design. It was originally designed by Pierre Paulin in 1971 for the private residence of Claude and Georges Pompidou at the Elysée Palace. The design was inspired by the curvaceous shape and grooved lines of a pumpkin, which gives the sofa its distinctive name and look.  The sofa features a protective and enveloping backrest, which is one of its most recognizable features. It was initially produced until 1973 by the manufacturer Alpha but was reintroduced in 2007 in collaboration with Ligne Roset, a French company known for high-quality furniture. Ligne Roset has been producing the Pumpkin sofa since then, offering it in two widths (178 cm and 250 cm) and with the option of being upholstered in either fabric or leather.
